The word is combined with three kanji and the hiragana particle \u308c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first kanji stands for “tree” or “trees”, the second one means “escape”, and the third one refers to “light” or “sun”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Saudade (Portuguese)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Saudade means the feeling of longing for something\/somebody you love which is now gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a bittersweet, empty kind of feeling that carries the knowledge that the thing of longing may never return. It means no goal or destination, but purely the simple pleasure of soaking up the beauty of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The aimless pedestrians are referred to as fl\u00e2neurs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n R\u00e9 nao (<\/strong>\u70ed\u95f9<\/strong>) (Chinese)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Chinese word r\u00e9 nao is generally translated as \u201clively\u201d or \u201cbustling\u201d. Its actual meaning goes beyond the adjectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A place or circumstance that is r\u00e9 nao is not only fun and lively. It also has a special vibe that makes everybody want to be there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A new, exciting bar or club could be r\u00e9 nao, but so could a university class or meeting with friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Toska (Russian)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Russian word toska can be tentatively translated as sadness or mournfulness. But the English words do not interpret their full meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are various shades of toska. It suggests intense emotions and the strong urge to live and thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gezelligheid (Dutch)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Gezelligheid refers towards a convivial, cozy, or warm surrounding. This could be the warmth of being with loved ones or the feeling of seeing a friend after a long hiatus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is almost the same as the Danish concept of hyggelig and the German idea of gem\u00fctlichkeit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It refers to a general togetherness that gives a feeling of warmth.
